REDCOM announces collaboration with Air Force Research Laboratory’s RIEBA unit to expand C2 communications

REDCOM announces a Statement of Work (SOW) in collaboration with the Air Force Research Laboratory’s (AFRL) RIEBA unit. The primary purpose of this SOW will be the evaluation and integration of the REDCOM Sigma XRI-400 hardware platform within AFRL/RIEBA’s communication architecture and networks.

REDCOM’s extensive track record with C2 solutions and demonstrated expertise in radio interoperability position the company as the ideal partner for the AFRL/RIEBA’s mission-critical objectives. REDCOM’s commitment extends to on-site installation, training, and comprehensive support of the Sigma XRI-400 within the AFRL/RIEBA laboratory environment. The integration efforts will focus on validating the bridge between RF communications and SIP/RTP interfaces within the Voice & Video Cross-Domain Solution (V2CDS) architecture.

“REDCOM is honored to be given the opportunity to collaborate directly with AFRL/RIEBA, which is at the tip of the spear when it comes to solving tough communication problems aligned with the USAF’s future operating concept – Agile Combat Employment (ACE),” said John Kelliher, Director, Strategy, REDCOM Laboratories, Inc.

Kelliher continues: “Communications are a critical function in executing effective command and control. Adaptable and interoperable communication systems will be of the utmost importance in maintaining positive communications at the edge.”

This SOW stands to benefit both REDCOM and the AFRL by fostering a dynamic exchange of expertise and resources. REDCOM Announces New Logo and Brand Identity

REDCOM Laboratories, Inc., a leading developer and supplier of advanced tactical communications systems for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), has completed an extensive rebranding effort centered around a new corporate logo. After maintaining the same logo since the company’s founding in 1978, this new brand identity better reflects REDCOM’s current mission of developing the world’s most reliable and interoperable Command and Control (C2) communications solutions.

“The previous REDCOM logo had a great run over the past 45 years, but the REDCOM of today is a vastly different company than it was even five or ten years ago. It was time to update our logo to represent who we are going forward: an innovative and nimble R&D company that solves unique communication challenges for mission-critical applications,” said Mike Gerenser, Director of Marketing at REDCOM Laboratories, Inc. “The new logo evokes both a three-dimensional shape and a connected network. A hidden “R” in the negative space at the center of the logo represents the REDCOM technology that brings disparate communication paths together.”

REDCOM’s old logo (left) was designed in 1978, featuring heavy lettering and a square digital wave. The new logo (right) implies a greater sense of connectivity and flexibility, featuring a hidden “R” in the center of the logo mark.

REDCOM’s new brand identity embodies a renewed sense of purpose but is still rooted in the company’s heritage of developing unique communications hardware and software. When the company was founded in 1978, the name REDCOM was chosen as an acronym for Research, Engineering, and Development in Communications. This important tagline is now a key component of the company’s updated brand identity.

REDCOM Awarded Five-Year $100M IDIQ contract by the U.S. Army for C2 Communications systems

REDCOM Laboratories, Inc., a leading developer and supplier of advanced tactical communications systems for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), today announced it was awarded an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract from the United States Army. The contract award is worth up to $100 million over a five-year period.

In 2020, the U.S. Army’s Program Executive Office Command, Control, Communications-Tactical (PEO C3T) began procuring and fielding REDCOM’s flagship Sigma® C2 software. Sigma converges capabilities normally served by multiple hardware and software solutions onto a very small software footprint that can scale up and down the echelons without requiring network reachback. Sigma has quickly become a key component of the tactical network that ensures the resiliency of voice, video, and chat communications. Sigma is already the voice solution for more than a dozen programs Programs of Record (PoR), including the Network Integration Technology Enhancement (NITE), Battlefield Video Teleconference (BVTC), Expeditionary Signal Battalion-Enhanced (ESB-E), and Multi-domain Task Force (MDTF).

This new IDIQ contract supersedes the 2020 contract, providing the Army with the ability to purchase the full suite of REDCOM products, including Sigma, Sigma XRI-400, Sigma XRI-M4K, the Sigma C2 Console, TSM integration, as well as support and training. The IDIQ contract vehicle is highly flexible, enabling the Army to easily purchase REDCOM products based on evolving mission requirements.

“REDCOM solutions have enabled the U.S. Army to be more mobile, interoperable, survivable, and distributed while reducing maintenance, lifecycle, and training costs,” said Courtney Stiles, Director of Business Development at REDCOM. “This contract will bring further cost savings to the U.S. Army through economies of scale and acknowledges the important role REDCOM solutions play in the U.S. Army’s Tactical Networks. We look forward to continuing to support the U.S. Army’s modernization plans and reducing the cognitive burden on the warfighter with our operationally proven and effective C2 Solutions.”

REDCOM announces Sigma SVG-1200, a new secure voice gateway platform for ACC-compliant Type 1 conferencing

The new SVG-1200 is powered by REDCOM Sigma software, enabling easy-to-use, secure multi-party communications between red and black networks.

REDCOM Laboratories, Inc. announced the launch of a new secure voice communications platform, the Sigma SVG-1200. The SVG-1200 is designed for government, military, and enterprise customers that require ACC-compliant Type 1 communications between multiple parties.

Sigma SVG-1200

The SVG-1200 delivers crystal-clear voice quality on both the red and black sides of the network. The “black” side of the network can be anywhere in the world, as long as the endpoints are Type-1 capable.

The REDCOM Sigma SVG-1200 is a purpose-built hardware platform powered by REDCOM’s flagship Sigma software. REDCOM Sigma features robust call control, conference management, and an intuitive graphical interface for easy administration.

“REDCOM has a long history of delivering reliable Secure Voice Gateway solutions to Federal Agencies and DoD organizations. This next-gen SVG solution continues that tradition with new hardware and software that makes implementing a secure multi-party conferencing solution easier than ever,” said Gerald Totsline, Director of Business Operations at REDCOM.

The SVG-1200 includes 12 ports, each of which can connect to a standard production Sectéra vIPer Phone, which acts as voice encryptors. The vIPer encryptors are NSA–certified, delivering Type 1 encryption and SCIP interoperability to protect sensitive voice calls classified Top Secret and below. On the black side, Sectéra vIPer phones support both PSTN and VoIP (SIP and SCCP) modes. The SVG-1200 system is fully scalable — if more 12 encryption paths are required, multiple SVG-1200 units can be networked together for increased capacity.

REDCOM Sigma SVG-1200 is available to order immediately and will ship in early Q3 2023.
