REDCOM receives Top Workplace Award for third consecutive year

REDCOM Laboratories, Inc. is proud to announce that the company has been awarded a Top Workplaces honor by The Democrat and Chronicle for the third consecutive year. The list of Top Workplaces is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage, LLC. The anonymous survey uniquely measures 15 drivers of engaged cultures that are critical to the success of any organization, including alignment, performance, engagement, and leadership, just to name a few.

“We are so pleased to be recognized for the third year in a row as a Top Workplace in Rochester. This “threepeat” award means so much to us this year as we continue to focus on a great work experience for our employees,” remarked REDCOM’s Director of Human Resources, Kara Martin. “We have proudly cultivated a family culture over the last 43 years. Last fall, we lost our beloved founder, Klaus Gueldenpfennig. We are so proud that we have been able to keep his vision and dream going through our employees.”

REDCOM’s mission centers around enabling the most important conversations in the world for customers that include all branches of the military, government agencies, and first responders. In a complex and competitive industry, REDCOM stands out from other communications companies by focusing on a refined set of functions that are integral to mission security.

“We know that REDCOM produces products of the highest quality, reliability, and interoperability and that is because of our employees’ dedication to REDCOM and our customers,” continues Martin. “On behalf of REDCOM, I want to thank all of our employees, not only for their feedback that led to this award, but for their hard work, their loyalty, and their commitment to making REDCOM a wonderful place to work.”

After navigating two years of COVID-19, REDCOM has kept their employees connected and driven towards a common goal. “As employees continue to return to the office more often, it is the laughter in the hallways, the hugs of old friends, and the impromptu chats that we realize we have all missed so much,” mentions Martin.  “Personally, it is such an honor to work for a company where employees recognize their value and are recognized for their contributions.”

Introducing Sigma® 3.1, a major new release of REDCOM’s C2 software

REDCOM Laboratories is proud to announce a major new release of Sigma, version 3.1. In addition to UX improvements and conference enhancements Sigma 3.1 includes two major new features: The REDCOM C2 Console app and TSM talk group support.

REDCOM Sigma is a complete software-based Command & Control solution with voice, video, chat, and conferencing. REDCOM Sigma® increases the warfighter’s operational flexibility while reducing size, weight, and power (SWaP) requirements at the tactical edge. In 2020 the U.S. Army chose REDCOM Sigma® as the C2 platform for its modernization programs because it is standards-based, transport-agnostic, and interoperable with existing systems. REDCOM Sigma enables warfighters to configure, manage, and control their C2 communication capabilities — including VoIP, video, chat, and radio interoperability — directly through an intuitive and easy-to-use interface. Sigma is already deployed in multiple programs within the US Army and US Air Force.

New in Sigma 3.1 is the REDCOM C2 Console, which provides a single pane of glass for monitoring and controlling all comms, including IP and RF endpoints. The REDCOM C2 Console can work with any Sigma® reachable endpoint, such as a SIP device, an analog phone via a SIP trunk, or radio voice net.

The C2 console’s intuitive UI requires very little training, enabling new users to get up-to-speed in minutes. The operator can listen to any conversation across multiple devices and talk groups, and can also build patches on-the-fly simply by dragging and dropping these connections together.

TSM™ talk group support enables Sigma to interoperate with all talk groups on a TSM Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET). TSM radio talk groups can be bridged to other TSM talk groups, radio nets, or IP endpoints.

Alongside the release of Sigma 3.1, REDCOM is introducing a new version of the Secure Client for Windows with major chat enhancements for the tactical domain. The updated Secure Client supports unified chat with both XMPP and IRC protocols, so users no longer must switch between chat clients. Chat panels can also be resized and rearranged to fit the needs of each individual user; this will increase operational tempo while reducing cognitive overload. The need for email is reduced as attachments can be sent through chat and urgent chats can be flagged for attention.

For a full list of new features in Sigma 3.1, click here to download the release notes.

REDCOM will be conducting a live webinar on June 9, 2022 at 1 pm Eastern to demonstrate the new features in Sigma 3.1. You can click here to register.

REDCOM Sigma 3.1 and the REDCOM Secure Client 5.2.12 for Windows are available immediately. Please contact a REDCOM solution advisor for further details.
