No mandatory upgrades or maintenance agreements

REDCOM’s hardware platforms are free from costly mandatory maintenance contracts and forced upgrades. This results in significant savings each year to our customers. We offer pay-as-you-use-them technical services and repairs. And, there are no mandatory upgrades. Customers are free to operate their REDCOM systems as they purchased them. Farmers Mutual Telephone Co. provides phone and Internet services to rural communities in southwest Iowa. During their IP migration, Farmers Mutual needed a softswitch that could serve as a SIP-based gateway between their main IP platform and local TDM legacy networks. They also needed a softswitch that would allow them to achieve geographic redundancy in remote Iowa communities.

Farmers Mutual purchased a REDCOM SLICE 2100 and a REDCOM HDX. The SLICE 2100’s SIP-based architecture provided interoperability and superior IP-to-TDM call routing.     The most obvious aspect of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) is the initial purchase price. But the purchase price often has no bearing on long-term costs of operation. It is highly important to understand all the costs of ownership to make the best possible purchase decision.

    REDCOM believes that our customers have the right to estimate the total cost of ownership during the purchase process, not after the sale when it is too late. We front-load most of the cost into the initial price of our hardware platforms.
