What is AS-SIP?
AS-SIP is the DoD Information System Network’s standard signaling protocol that provides end-to-end Assured Services. REDCOM’s software and hardware platforms are built to DoD and industry standards, certified by the DISA Unified Capabilities Certification Office, and are interoperable with all other AS-SIP/ industry standard SIP equipment, including end instruments.
AS-SIP facilitates essential DoD features:
Multi-Level Precedence and Preemption (MLPP):
- Establishes communications priorities
- Ensures system and network access and control
- Manages precedence and preemption assuring end-to-end communications connectivity
Secure Real-Time Transport Protocol (SRTP):
- Enables encrypted communications
Transport Layer Security (TLS):
- Enables encrypted communications
Differentiated Services Code Point (DSCP):
- Traffic management through priority packet routing
Traffic engineering:
- Assured Services Access Control (ASAC)
- Dynamic ASAC (DASAC).
REDCOM systems provide secure and non-secure interoperability between:
- AS-SIP end instruments
- Softphones
- Cell phones
- Satellite phones
- GSM phones
- VoIP end instruments
- Radios
- Legacy (TDM) equipment
- Magneto crank-phones
