REDCOM Successfully Completes 2026 AS9100D Surveillance Audit

REDCOM Laboratories, Inc. has successfully completed its 2026 1st Surveillance Audit for AS9100D Aerospace and ISO 9001:2015, reaffirming the strength of the company’s Quality Management System and its continued commitment to manufacturing excellence.

The audit was conducted by the certifying body, TÜV Rheinland, as part of the annual requirement to maintain AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 certification. This year’s assessment resulted in no non-conformities and a perfect auditor score of 5 out of 5.

AS9100D is the international quality management standard for the aviation, space, and defense industries. Built on our initial  ISO 9001 certification, the standard adds requirements focused on quality, product safety, risk management, traceability, counterfeit parts prevention, and continual improvement across the aerospace and defense supply chain. For manufacturers serving mission-critical markets, like REDCOM, a strong Quality Management System is more than a compliance requirement. It is a framework for consistency, accountability, and customer confidence.

“This is our 8th year as a certified manufacturer, and this year’s audit is the culmination of a lot of disciplined work across the organization,” said Steve Husband, Vice President of Manufacturing at REDCOM. “As a requirement to maintain our certification, we must annually demonstrate, with objective evidence, that our Quality Management System is performing at the highest level to the international standard. The auditor’s assessment yielded no non-conformities and a perfect score of 5 out of 5, which speaks directly to the commitment and performance of our team.”

A Quality Management System helps ensure that products are built through controlled, repeatable, and measurable processes. For REDCOM, that discipline is especially important because the company designs, engineers, manufactures, and supports communication solutions for defense, government, public safety, and other organizations that depend on reliable performance in demanding environments.

AS9100D emphasizes continual improvement, operational risk management, supplier control, product safety, and documented objective evidence of compliance. These principles align closely with REDCOM’s long-standing focus on dependable U.S.-based manufacturing and mission-ready communications technology.

“This result reflects the culture we work to maintain every day,” said Julia Geigel, Production Quality Manager. “Quality is not something that only happens during an audit. It is built into the way we plan, build, inspect, document, and improve. Our customers count on REDCOM to deliver products they can trust, and our Quality Management System helps make that possible.”

REDCOM’s continued certification demonstrates the company’s ability to meet rigorous international standards while supporting customers with high-reliability communications solutions. It also reflects REDCOM’s ongoing investment in process improvement, manufacturing discipline, and long-term customer satisfaction.

Maintaining AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 certification requires annual validation by an independent third-party certifying body, along with internal commitment to objective evidence, corrective action, and continuous improvement. The successful completion of the 2026 surveillance audit reinforces REDCOM’s position as a trusted U.S. manufacturer serving customers with exacting quality, security, and performance requirements.
