Jeff Smith has been an integral part of REDCOM since 2016, bringing over 25 years of leadership experience in product development, engineering, and operations. His career spans some of the most technically demanding industries, including secure C2 communications, VoIP systems, digital printing, and imaging technologies at companies such as Kodak and Xerox.
During his first decade at REDCOM, Jeff successfully led the company’s engineering group, driving advancements in tactical communication solutions and ensuring its products met the rigorous demands of military and government customers.
As COO, Jeff now oversees all critical areas of the business, including engineering, operations, manufacturing, business development, and customer engagement. His leadership will be instrumental in advancing REDCOM’s mission to deliver interoperable, cutting-edge communications products.
Before coming to REDCOM, Jeff received his bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Clarkson University. He started his career as a Software Engineer at Xerox, developing software for application modules for digital print controllers. He then worked as a Senior Software Engineer for Xerox, leading project teams for the network controller.
Later, Jeff worked for twelve years at Eastman Kodak as Technical Lead and Senior Software Engineer for NexPress digital front end. Jeff spent six years at Allworx, beginning as a Product Software Architect and then as Director of Product Software. In this role, he was responsible for the delivery of embedded software for their VoIP products.
In his free time, Jeff enjoys golfing, baseball, and the performing arts. He is a long-time steering committee member for the Rochester Broadway Theater League’s Stars of Tomorrow program and is on the Board of Directors for The Hochstein School.
