Dennis Kohlmeier is the Business Development Director for Public Safety and First Responder markets at REDCOM, where he helps to define problems in the market and identify areas where REDCOM products can be used to reduce conflict and improve interoperability. Having served in law enforcement and as a volunteer fireman for the majority of his career, Dennis is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to public safety.
Dennis received a master’s degree from the University of Brockport in Public Administration and attended the FBI National Academy, a specialized law enforcement leadership program. He worked as a patrolman with the Webster police department for eleven years, including 3 years of active duty service in the Army after 9/11. Upon his return, he came back to the police department as a patrolman, then served as a sergeant for three years, and then a lieutenant for nearly six years. Dennis was also certified as a law enforcement instructor in general topics, defensive tactics, firearms, and reality-based training. Through all of this experience in public safety, Dennis is the perfect man for the job in relating to our customers, identifying their operational needs, and understanding what they need to get their jobs done.
He enjoys working with REDCOM’s customers and approaching the operational aspects of public safety from a different perspective. His father, Gene Kohlmeier, has been working at REDCOM for 25 years, and Dennis looks forward to carrying on in his footsteps. In his free time, Dennis enjoys spending time with his wife and his four kids.
