Since its debut in 2005, the SLICE has offered the telecommunications industry a powerful feature set in a slim (just 1U) single-unit solution. The REDCOM SLICE®2100™ is a converged IP Communications solution that is much more than just a softswitch.

The SLICE 2100 Version 4 offers enhanced SIP-based features and interoperability highlighted as follows:

SIP based VoIP capabilities: Increased from 1,000 to 2,000 SIP subscribers (per unit)
SNMP monitoring
Centrex business line groups have been added (SIP and TDM)
Radio Line Interface Module – supports up to 2 radios per module

All REDCOM SLICE 2100 modules in Version 4 are hot-swappable, allowing customization of the system according to network requirements. Existing SLICE 2100 units can be easily upgraded with Version 4.0 software.

The SLICE 2100 is a converged IP communications solution that is much more than just a softswitch. Depending on its configuration, the SLICE 2100 now supports up to 2,000 SIP subscribers, up to 24 analog lines, 4 ISDN BRI lines, two field-configurable T1/E1 spans expandable up to 6 T1/E1s. Powered by REDCOM’s exclusive TRANSip® IP technology suite, SLICE 2100 offers a remarkable level of interoperability, including standard SIP telephones, T1, E1, ISDN (PRI/BRI), Euro ISDN (PRI/BRI), MF/R1, MFC R2, GR-303, V5.2, C7/SS7, SIP, IPv4 and IPv6. REDCOM’s HDX leaps Marshall Islands into 21st century communications

Victor, New York (July 12, 2010) – REDCOM Laboratories Inc. announced today that Marshall Islands National Telecommunications Authority (MINTA), the Republic of Marshall Islands’ national communications carrier, has completed commissioning of two powerful REDCOM HDX carrier-class platforms for their Next Generation Network (NGN) core call control.

The REDCOM HDXs are the perfect companion to MINTA’s recently commissioned extension to the HANTRU1 Cable System, and bring Marshall Islands into the global broadband community.

“Completion of the REDCOM core switching and undersea cable is a momentous occasion,” said Tony Muller, President of MINTA. “The NGN developments will enable the Marshall Islands to connect to the global fiber optic network and break down the walls that previously isolated our nation and provide opportunities essential for national growth.”

The REDCOM HDXs replaced two legacy Nortel DMS 300 international gateways at the main communications hub at Majuro Atoll, and also the secondary point of access on the island of Ebeye (Kwajalein.) The HDXs now serves as powerful, next-generation Carrier Class International Gateway softswitches, immediately reducing OpEx with IP-trunking and carrier monitoring while offering a host of new revenue generating features.

Army Awards Five-Year Sole Source Blanket Purchase Agreement to REDCOM

REDCOM’s HDX gives Palau a foundation for the future with integrated legacy and IP services

Victor, New York (April 19, 2010) – REDCOM Laboratories Inc. announced today that Palau National Communications Corporation (PNCC), the Republic of Palau’s national carrier for local, international, and IP communications services, has completed commissioning of a powerful REDCOM HDX carrier-class platform for their Next Generation Network (NGN) core gateway.

“The REDCOM HDX with TRANSip® technology suite provides PNCC with integrated legacy and IP services that will serve as the network core well into the future. Company is Key Partner with DISA for Assured Services Session Initiation Protocol Initiative

REDCOM tested several Polycom SoundPoint® IP models (320/321/330/450/550/560/650/670), as well as the VVX® 1500 Business Media Phone for verification in REDCOM’s lab to ensure that the company’s HDX and SLICE 2100 softswitch solutions are fully interoperable. REDCOM successfully provided rigorous and comprehensive SIP interoperability testing in its company lab in Victor, which verified 100 percent integration and functionality between the Polycom VoIP phones and REDCOM’s HDX and SLICE 2100 SIP call control platforms.

Tonga Communications Corporation (TCC) completed a major network overhaul by installing an NGN-ready REDCOM HDX softswitch in Vava’u, the main tourist area, and redeploying existing REDCOM systems to four separate service areas. The HDX now enables TCC to provide Next Generation Network services to the people of Tonga. HDX gives telecom service providers like TCC all the benefits of IP while preserving the functionality of their existing telecom infrastructure.

Stratos New Zealand Ltd. selected the SLICE®, REDCOM’s smallest, self-contained telephone system, to serve as the communications hub for the remote island of Pitcairn. SLICE is a completely integrated telephone switching system for Pitcairn, providing international gateway functions and enabling the island’s link to the outside world via phone, fax and satellite communications.

REDCOM Class 4/5 Softswitches Provide North Slope Region with Reliable, Quality Service

Victor, New York (January 6, 2010) — REDCOM Laboratories Inc., a company that designs and manufactures the world’s most reliable digital and IP-enabled telecommunications systems, announced today that Arctic Slope Telephone Association Cooperative (ASTAC) has selected three REDCOM HDX switches for installation at three separate sites in the upper reaches of Alaska.

Located above the Arctic Circle, ASTAC’s rural co-op service area in Alaska’s North Slope region is vast, encompassing 92,000 square miles of brutally cold and inhospitable terrain. To provide advanced, next-generation telecommunications services to Kaktovik, Point Lay, and Wainwright, ASTAC needed powerful, next-generation Class 4/5 softswitches that were extremely reliable, low maintenance, and low power given the difficulty with servicing telecom equipment in that environment. Two other ASTAC sites – Anaktuvuk Pass and Nuiqsut – have previously installed REDCOM HDX systems.

ASTAC selected the HDX with TRANSip®, a Carrier-Class softswitch based on the industry-standard Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) that fully integrates VoIP and TDM in a single Next Generation Network platform. Powered by the TRANSip technology suite, REDCOM’s HDX enables service providers to invest in the latest VoIP technology to drive their top lines while aggressively managing their bottom lines. With the HDX with TRANsip, service providers can incrementally migrate to VoIP in a cost-effective manner when it makes sense for their business, with complete legacy support and maximum flexibility of deployment.
