Deployable Interoperability

Critical missions call for highly portable communications. SLICE® is REDCOM’s smallest, self-contained switching system. It provides 24 analog line circuits, 4 BRI-S line circuits, 2 digital spans (E1/T1), with integrated modular jacks (RJ-11, RJ-45). It supports the features required most, such as MLPP and advanced conferencing. SLICE is versatile and well-suited for strategic and tactical applications.

SLICE weighs less than 15 lbs. (6.5 kg), so its portability is unmatched. It is easy to install in standard 19 in. (48 cm) equipment racks, transit cases, or in vehicles for rapid response.

SLICE is a complete integrated switching system that can be connected to other network elements by E1/T1, using ISDN PRI or inband register signalling. Several SLICES can be connected together to allow for growth. SLICE’s network interfaces, signalling protocols and conversion deliver true interoperability.

Applications:

Strategic and tactical Networks.
SLICE offers extensive conferencing capabilities, a very compact size, and low power consumption. It is ideal for emergency response and shipboard communications.

Tactical/Deployable Communications. SLICE is ideal for mission-essential needs when you have to carry it in, communicate reliably, and get out.

Emergency Response. SLICE is perfectly suited to handle Emergency Response activities: police, fire, air traffic control, emergency/terrorist incidents, and natural disasters.

Integrated Remote. SLICE can be connected to REDCOM’s large high density switch, the HDX•C, using ClusterNet™. ClusterNet over an E1/T1 allows full feature transparency of the Slice with the HDX•C. The Slice becomes a truly integrated “remote” to the HDX•C, benefiting from the HDX•C’s larger capacity and flexible hardware options. ClusterNet provides the ability to use an SS7/C7 link terminated on the HDX•C. This provides SS7/C7 to the remote Slice without additional expensive SS7/C7 link costs.
