REDCOM’s HDX was chosen to replace a legacy Nortel DMS 10

Victor, New York (August 2, 2011) – REDCOM Laboratories Inc., a company that designs and manufactures the world’s most reliable digital and IP-enabled telecommunications systems, announced today that Alaska Communications has selected REDCOM’s HDX softswitch to provide advanced, next-generation telecommunications services while reducing operating costs at a remote site in Alaska.

Given the difficulty in servicing telecom equipment in this environment, Alaska Communications needed a powerful and reliable next-generation Class 4/5 softswitch with low maintenance requirements and low power requirements.

The REDCOM HDX will provide the company with drop-in replacements for the existing legacy features, while providing the opportunity to migrate to IP-based services in the future. With REDCOM’s patented distributed architecture, it minimizes the risk of single point failures, ensuring the reliability of the HDX softswitch with complete Class 4/5 capabilities.
