Integrated TDM & VoIP in an all-inclusive platform
In the transition to VoIP, the idea of wholesale replacement of network assets is not only expensive, it is often completely unrealistic. REDCOM's High Density Exchange (HDX) with TRANSip® is a powerful softswitch and SIP call manager that retains complete Class 4/5 capabilities. That means you can migrate to IP when it makes sense for your business. HDX brings VoIP connectivity to a wide range of applications, including public and private networks, government and defense agencies, and enterprise markets. It provides an integrated TDM and VoIP migration platform that retains traditional revenue generating subscriber features. You'll avoid forklift replacements of your existing systems and gain a solution that works seamlessly with your current infrastructure.
Preserve your infrastructure assets
You've made a significant investment in your network and HDX helps you maximize your existing assets. HDX maintains connectivity with voice mail, GSM, operator services, and satellite networks. Its TDM interfaces preserve your customers' legacy equipment (including modem, fax, and Point of Sale terminals).
Transition to IP on your schedule
For the foreseeable future, legacy devices and networks must continue to be supported. HDX with TRANSip offers a low risk, flexible, and cost-effective transition to VoIP. With HDX you can start with as few as 100 IP subscribers. Operating as both a softswitch and a gateway, HDX delivers up to 1,000 IP subscribers per shelf. Its extensive TDM capabilities allow you to retain legacy equipment. HDX is a true drop-in replacement that facilitates easy migration to VoIP at the most opportune time for your business.
HDX: a softswitch designed with the future in mind
HDX is a Carrier Class platform, that is Class 4/5 approved in the USA. Offering industry-standard SIP functionality, HDX with TRANSip is compatible with standards-based SIP phones, so you don't have to worry about being trapped by proprietary VoIP phones or protocols. HDX includes both current IPv4 and IPv6 capabilities, giving you the flexibility to make the transition at no extra cost. REDCOM is noted for providing dedicated, ongoing support of our products with a 30-year history of no mandatory upgrades. That means you can put HDX to work right now, and continue to rely on it in the future.
Flexibility and features help you maximize profitability
HDX with TRANSip gives you the flexibility to approach new "green field" service areas with a VoIP offering. It is also ideal for test marketing IP services to your subscribers. Additionally, HDX works as a cost-effective adjunct/overlay on your existing network. HDX allows you to compete globally by offering remote subscriber access, and add new revenue through IP Centrex services. You'll gain the ability to respond effectively to marketplace demands and defend your subscriber base against low-cost competition.
Retain customers with flexible bandwidth
HDX with TRANSip allows you to compress more into a pipe and make transmission facilities more productive. REDCOM's flexible bandwidth allocation manages low-revenue subscribers by offering reduced bandwidth, while retaining high-end subscribers with high bandwidth and premium services (from POTS to ISDN and VoIP). Ultimately, HDX helps you become more competitive, addressing subscriber needs and countering low-cost competition.
Distributed & redundant architecture means enhanced survivability
The HDX system architecture minimizes the risk of single point failures as it distributes resources system-wide and network-wide, using multiple points of direct access. REDCOM HDX with TRANSip is not based on a Microsoft® Windows® operating system, and is not susceptible to any known viruses and worms used by hackers. HDX features a distributed system architecture that employs multiple call controllers which provides a strong defense against a Denial of Service (DoS) attack. HDX provides continuous service with innovative alternate routing that combines IP routes and TDM trunks.
Scalable and stackable
Based on REDCOM's patented distributed architecture, HDX is scalable and stackable with a "building block" approach. A shelf can function as a complete system by itself or be stacked to make systems up to 16,000 ports (4,000 non-blocking).
Multiple Access Solutions
HDX provides GR-303 and V5.2 (for control of RDT and access nodes) to help you concentrate network resources and reduce your outside plant. Connecting to a digital loop carrier, HDX offers connectivity to advanced technologies, remote operation capability and efficient network management. Creating multiple access solutions, HDX is a total network solution, giving you the flexibility to choose technologies that match your business needs.
