All this is available while retaining your investment, and on a proven, reliable platform. REDCOM’s systems are the logical solution for your future network requirements.

Interoperability

The REDCOM systems are designed to interconnect with analog lines, VoIP, satellite, microwave, and E1. REDCOM’s TRANSip® architecture is based on four functional core elements (Call Management, Media Gateway, Media Gateway Control and Legacy Support) that converge VoIP Call Management and TDM networks. TRANSip binds these functions into a single integrated system for seamless interoperability.

REDCOM’s TRANSip technology suite allows IP and TDM networks to interoperate, as well radios and wireless communications, enabling a seamless, incremental transition to VoIP networks. Designed for the industry-standard IMS architecture, REDCOM’s HDX softswitch allows users to future proof their networks to interoperate today and tomorrow with a wide range of protocols and interfaces, positioning them for long-term evolution.

REDCOM builds the interfaces and supports the protocols that enable secure and interoperable communications. REDCOM solutions connect multi-technology networks delivering maximum interoperability, including SIP, V.150.1, T.38, IPv4, IPv6, SS7/C7, GR-303, V5.2, CAS, DTMF, MFC/R2, MF/R1, FGC, FGD, CLASS, ISDN PRI/BRI and Euro ISDN.

VoIP-TDM Interoperability

With REDCOM’s HDX, customers can continue to interoperate with their existing TDM networks while leveraging next-generation VoIP applications. This functionality provides REDCOM’s customers with the flexibility to smoothly and incrementally migrate to IP in a cost-effective manner when it makes sense for them, while still being able to deploy advanced communications technologies without compromising service quality and reliability.

Radio Interface for HDX System: VOX, COR & PTT Calling

Radio users gain all the same benefits of a REDCOM system normally available to station users. This feature allows any phone in the REDCOM system to dial out to a remote radio, or allows a radio to dial directly into the system and ring a phone, make an outside call, or call another remote radio system. The REDCOM Radio Interface contains two circuits and supports full two-way calling with Push to Talk (PTT), Voice Operated Transmission (VOX) or Carrier Operated Relay (COR). Each circuit can interface with an HF (pulse) or UHF/VHF (DTMF) radio for simplex or duplex operation. The Radio Interface allows direct, back-to-back radio patches with both VOX and COR.

Reliability & Security

Whether you select the HDX or SLICE 2100, REDCOM delivers Reality-Based switching through highly reliable technology (99.999% reliability), providing innovative solutions based on your business needs. We provide complete, integrated solutions that yield high returns on investment, while safeguarding your critical communications for the enterprise.

REDCOM employs a patented distributed architecture which is highly reliable. REDCOM systems distribute resources (trunks, subscribers, etc.) and therefore are less prone to catastrophic failure. In a true Next Generation Network, important resources are distributed throughout the network and multiple are available to ensure service continuity.

Secure Conferencing

As adoption of next-generation technologies like VoIP have increased over the past several years, the security needs of enterprises have become paramount for many industries . REDCOM's switching solutions address the security requirements for enterprise customers in vertical markets such as banking and retail, with high-value features including secure conferencing.

In the same way that organizations protect their corporate computing networks with firewalls. With a REDCOM system equipped with an SWT-R Interface Board, companies can protect voice communications with SWT-R equipped sites as well. This allows organizations such as banking and financial institutions to discuss their operations with complete confidence that they are not being overheard. And, with the REDCOM TRANSip technology suite, VoIP communications can be secured as well.

The voice streams for SWT-compatible ports are encrypted and cannot use standard conference circuits. By switching them to a REDCOM system equipped with SWT-Rs, the remote SWT compatible terminals can use REDCOM's Extreme Conferencing capabilities, which provide unmatched size, flexibility, management and control with the ability to connect to secure environments. As a result, the voice path from the REDCOM system to the external SWT compatible terminal is completely secure.

IP PBX (intelligent node)

There are many kinds of PBX systems. Organizations are migrating their networks away from legacy PBX systems in favor of more robust, feature-rich IP PBX systems. Most enterprises find that it makes good financial sense to preserve their investments in existing TDM equipment. Therefore, the hybrid or converged IP-PBX approach — capable of supporting both TDM and IP communications — appears to be the most practical and popular.

With REDCOM, customers have both a softswitch and an IP-PBX option (or an “intelligent node”). Whether you need a softswitch or an IP-PBX, REDCOM has you covered with the HDX and SLICE® 2100™. These next-generation Carrier Class 4/5 softswitches also serve as an intelligent node platform. As such, these systems convert IP phone calls into traditional circuit-switched TDM connections for the PSTN. Acting as an intelligent node, the HDX and SLICE 2100 also support traditional analog and digital telephones, allowing enterprises to migrate slowly at their own pace to an all-IP telephony environment when it makes sense for their business.

The HDX and SLICE 2100 are completely integrated VoIP Gateways that scale seamlessly to thousands of IP subscribers, providing state-of-the-art telephony features in an easy to use and highly intuitive, low- maintenance platform. A VoIP network must support the Internet Protocol being used. The Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is growing rapidly as an IP-PBX standard. Virtually all basic telephony features are now available in SIP. REDCOM’s HDX and SLICE 2100 switching systems act as both SIP-based softswitches and SIP-based intelligent nodes, depending on the specific application.
