REDCOM High Density Exchange (HDX) receives RUS acceptance

HDX

Victor, NY - Tuesday, May 6, 2008:
The Technical Standards Committee A - Telecommunications of the USDA Rural Development has accepted the REDCOM HDX Version 1.0 onto their list of Acceptable Materials. The Committee has deemed the HDX acceptable for use on the telecommunications systems of USDA Rural Development Telecommunications Program borrowers.

The HDX is a scalable telecommunications solution that integrates legacy and Next Generation features and services. HDX bridges multiple technologies by combining VoIP and TDM interfaces, analog lines/trunks, E1/T1, ISDN, radio, and wireless in a single Class 4/5 package.

The HDX continues the REDCOM standard of high reliability, using a patented distributed architecture. The HDX employs multiple equipment shelves (each with their own processor and memory) that operate as a seamless system, and can also perform independently. A shelf can function as a complete system by itself or can be stacked with other shelves to make systems up to 16,000 ports (4,000 non-blocking).

Designed for operations in the world's most challenging environments, the HDX uses no fans, filters, or moving parts. All interface boards are hot-swappable, allowing for fast and easy repairs. The HDX shares many circuit interfaces with other REDCOM products, helping customers control their parts inventory and reduce training costs.

For thirty years, REDCOM has designed and manufactured innovative telecommunications products noted for their quality and reliability. REDCOM products provide customers with state-of-the-art public and private network systems, programmable switches, test equipment, interoperable tactical systems, and transportable communications platforms for disaster recovery.
