  • Engineering – Electrical engineers, real time control software engineers, with C and/or Java experience, and IT software engineers. Telephony, IP, and network knowledge or educational specialization is highly desirable. While REDCOM provides a dynamic, structured environment to ensure high productivity, it also gives substantial freedom to engineers to use and build their skills and knowledge.
  • Sales – We sell direct, with our own direct sales staff and sales support staff. This includes technical requirements analysis, quotation, order entry, customer database customization, and customer technical support and training. Positions are staffed by salespersons, engineers and technicians. Education and experience requirements vary depending upon the position.
  • Manufacturing – REDCOM builds its own circuit boards and systems. REDCOM circuit boards use surface mount technologies. Positions include test engineering, manufacturing process design, board assembly/testing, system assembly/testing, as well as shipping and receiving. Education requirements vary, depending on job requirements. We cross-train our manufacturing employees, creating a flexible workforce able to meet changing demands, which greatly increases job diversity and satisfaction.
  • Facilities – We are proud of our office and manufacturing facilities. Maintenance and housekeeping activities are provided by our own facilities and grounds staff. They are an integral and valued part of our operation.
  • Administration – REDCOM administration staff handles purchasing, quality control, and a variety of other administrative activities. We have our own internal accounting staff for all necessary corporate activities. Dedicated IT servers equip them with the necessary tools, fully integrated with the rest of our corporate activities and systems. Education and experience requirements vary depending upon position.

State of the Art Facility

REDCOM’s workforce enjoys a comfortable, well maintained office and manufacturing facility. This 140,000 square foot facility is located on forty acres in suburban Victor, New York. Our manufacturing floor is built around a large, treed atrium. We have a health facility open to all employees, with two racquetball courts, exercise/workout equipment, saunas, and a large Jacuzzi. There is even an equipped radio shack for Ham radio operators. The grounds include walking paths through wooded areas.

Located near Rochester, New York, Victor is within driving distance of the Finger Lakes, Lake Ontario, Niagara Falls, the Adirondack Mountains, and the Catskill Mountains. Web Developer

Essential Functions

Responsible for the development of major and minor Web applications and components for external users. The developer will develop, test and deliver web sites, applications and components. Enhancements and defect resolution will be required on an ongoing basis. Best practices and development methods must be utilized to ensure the success of projects. The developer will have the ability to create web applications and components from the requirements stage, through design, and through production deployment.

Scripting, programming, as well as development involving compatibility and seamless integration with various technologies. Flexibility, adaptability and the ability to learn quickly in various technical and creative environments, while delivering quality development work by tight deadlines. 

Qualifications & Critical Skills

  • BS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Web Development, or Web and Mobile Computing
  • Experience in developing websites and/or web applications as well as maintaining existing code.
  • Familiarity with web standards, responsive design, and current best practices.
  • Front-end and some back-end development experience. More important is the experience of seamless integration of front- to back-end functionality.
  • Practical experience in development of Java, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, SQL, JSF, JSP, JPA,  and JPQL.
  • Practical experience in development of J2EE Application server technology (GlassFish, JBoss, WebSphere). Knowledge of Object Role Modeling (ORM).
  • Practical exposure and/or experience with some or all of the following: ASP, XML, Oracle, MS SQL Server, Windows Server environments.
  • Strong PHP skills.
  • Understanding of Model-View Controller (MVC) and modern web frameworks.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Desired Skills

  • Experience developing APIs (REST/JSON)
  • Experience with CodeIgniter, PostgreSQL, AngularJS
  • Knowledge of testing tools such as Selenium and PHPUnit

    System Integration & Test Specialist / Engineer

    Essential Functions

    • Responsible for product validation and integration of various solutions, including system software and applications on various hardware platforms. Various telecom technologies utilized, including but not limited to VoIP, Digital Interfaces, and complex protocols.
    • Evaluate product reliability on prototypes in field trials and for final product releases.
    • Research and acquire relevant specifications and third party documentation pertaining to integration of related interfacing equipment.
    • Interface with customers and/or third party equipment vendors to coordinate systems integration efforts.
    • Develop, document, and implement product testing techniques in order to carry out test plans. Techniques may include, but are not limited to, regression testing to ensure previously validated features are not affected in new development, test script development and coding.
    • Use a variety of test measurement equipment, analyzing equipment, and software applications to evaluate product performance.
    • Responsible for fault detection, analysis, isolation, and reporting. Then, work with software engineering team to resolve. Once resolved, validate the fix.
    • Ensure product and production goals are met from a design verification and production test perspective.

    Other Duties

      • Work with software engineering in feature development as it applies to initial test results.
      • Assist other departments (Customer Service, Sales, Manufacturing, etc.) in product utilization, including configuration of system parameters, installation, or troubleshooting.


      Strong knowledge in a variety of network protocols and technologies (listed under Critical Skills) attained through the following:

      • Associate’s or higher in Information Technology, Networking & System Administration, Information & Network Technology, Web & Mobile Computing, Systems Engineering, or closely related degree.


      • Attainment of the same level of advanced knowledge through a combination of intellectual instruction (e.g., Industry recognized network or telecom-related certification, related university or military program of study) and at least 4 years of directly related work experience.

      Critical Skills

      • IP/SIP routing and network security
      • Network protocol analysis tools, such as Wireshark
      • Hypervisor experience, such as VMware
      • Linux and Windows OS
      • Web development and scripting languages, such as PHP
      • Ability to apply the aforementioned network protocols and technologies experience in the performance of fault detection, analysis, isolation, and reporting.

        Regional Sales Manager

        We’re searching for a Regional Sales Manager with a telecommunications background.

        If these are must-haves, then here is what we are asking of you…

        Develop new sales accounts and deliver incremental revenue from existing accounts within the assigned territory. Assist customers with the configuration of REDCOM systems to supply input for the generation of a proposal. Keep informed on industry news and trends, products, services, competitors, as well as relevant information about legacy, existing, and emerging technologies.

        The required knowledge and background for this position would typically be possessed by a person with at least five years’ experience as a sales executive within a related technical arena; preferably in telecommunications. The ability to travel domestically and internationally, up to 40%, without restriction. Also, a demonstrated work history of consistently meeting or exceeding assigned sales quotas and legal authorization to work in the US are a must.
