  • Engineering – Electrical engineers, real time control software engineers, with C and/or Java experience, and IT software engineers. Telephony, IP, and network knowledge or educational specialization is highly desirable. While REDCOM provides a dynamic, structured environment to ensure high productivity, it also gives substantial freedom to engineers to use and build their skills and knowledge.
  • Sales – We sell direct, with our own direct sales staff and sales support staff. This includes technical requirements analysis, quotation, order entry, customer database customization, and customer technical support and training. Positions are staffed by salespersons, engineers and technicians. Education and experience requirements vary depending upon the position.
  • Manufacturing – REDCOM builds its own circuit boards and systems. REDCOM circuit boards use surface mount technologies. Positions include test engineering, manufacturing process design, board assembly/testing, system assembly/testing, as well as shipping and receiving. Education requirements vary, depending on job requirements. We cross-train our manufacturing employees, creating a flexible workforce able to meet changing demands, which greatly increases job diversity and satisfaction.
  • Facilities – We are proud of our office and manufacturing facilities. Maintenance and housekeeping activities are provided by our own facilities and grounds staff. They are an integral and valued part of our operation.
  • Administration – REDCOM administration staff handles purchasing, quality control, and a variety of other administrative activities. We have our own internal accounting staff for all necessary corporate activities. Dedicated IT servers equip them with the necessary tools, fully integrated with the rest of our corporate activities and systems. Education and experience requirements vary depending upon position.

State of the Art Facility

REDCOM’s workforce enjoys a comfortable, well maintained office and manufacturing facility. This 140,000 square foot facility is located on forty acres in suburban Victor, New York. Our manufacturing floor is built around a large, treed atrium. We have a health facility open to all employees, with two racquetball courts, exercise/workout equipment, saunas, and a large Jacuzzi. There is even an equipped radio shack for Ham radio operators. The grounds include walking paths through wooded areas.

Located near Rochester, New York, Victor is within driving distance of the Finger Lakes, Lake Ontario, Niagara Falls, the Adirondack Mountains, and the Catskill Mountains. Channel Partner Program Manager

The Channel Partner Program (CPP) Manager is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of REDCOM’s Channel Partner Program, including program requirements, policies, partner benefits, partner management tools, and transaction process requirements.

Working closely with a cross-functional team of Product Management, Marketing, Sales Operations, Finance, Legal, and Technical Support/Training personnel, this individual will build and roll out a scalable program to grow REDCOM’s Unified Communications products sales through a newly-created Channel Partner network.

Responsibilities

  • Develop CPP structure and parameters, including partner eligibility requirements, benefits, and related processes
  • Grow the CPP by way of Channel Partner identification, engagement, and activation
  • Develop and deploy best practice for CPP expansion in regards to investment program, MDF, value-based competencies, and incentive programs.
  • Manage the CPP through all phases of the development cycle, from analysis and design through implementation and tracking
  • Work with finance and legal to develop program policies, procedures and incentive program.
  • Create and refine CPP value proposition and key messages
  • Build rapport with and effectively communicate to internal stakeholders the value of the CPP.
  • Report regularly to all internal stakeholders on the progress in development and implementation of the CPP.

Qualifications

  • BS or BA required; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of channel sales and partner program management experience, preferably acquired by working for or with an IP networking, VoIP, and/or Unified Communications technology vendor
  • Deep knowledge of the Managed Services Provider (MSP) business model and MSP industry structure
  • Motivated to sell the advantages and benefits of the CPP to prospective Channel Partners
  • Ability to identify new tools and strategies to enable Channel Partners to sell effectively
  • Ability to navigate and collaborate cross-functionally and across geographies for program development
  • Ability to design, develop and manage program development from initial structuring through to execution and reporting
  • Excellent communicator with ability to clearly convey ideas and information in speaking and writing
  • Ability to proactively identify alternatives and make contingency plans
  • Creative and able to balance multiple tasks within tight deadlines and limited budgets
  • Travel: Initially < 10%, increasing to 20% - 30% after six months

User Experience Specialist (UX Specialist)

The UX Specialist is primarily responsible for managing the Product UI (User Interface) for REDCOM products. This responsibility comprehends every aspect of how users interact with our products–from the look and feel of the design, to the words used to describe functionality, to how tasks are structured within applications. However, there are many other places where customers experience REDCOM, and the UX Specialist is expected to exert a positive influence in these other functional areas:

  • Prospect Education–the Sales Process. How are products talked about; what informational materials are provided; how prospects self-guide through marketing content.
  • Customer Training. How REDCOM teaches its customers creates a user experience that is long lasting. Superior interaction design facilitates learning and is a strong influence on the quality of the training experience.
  • Website Navigation/Interaction. Aside from the content itself, how easy, intuitive, and frustration-free is the experience of visiting redcom.com?

Just as the Product Manager is the Steward of the Product, the UX Specialist is the voice of REDCOM users/customers/prospects. Every task and decision should consider how a user would want to interact with REDCOM. UX Specialists make sure the user is always at the table; the UX Specialist instills a user-centered mindset in everything that REDCOM does.

The UX Specialist works closely with Product Managers to review current product offerings for gaps and improvements as well as monitor future features and functionality for continuity and ease of use. He/She understands product requirements, identifies core problems to be solved, and translates this understanding into compelling, elegant, and easy-to-use customer experiences.

Primary Responsibilities:

General

  • Continually benchmark UX in current products and align with Product Management goals.
  • Review proposed feature/functionality of future products and offer assistance with design and implementation planning.
  • Maintain Familiarity with field deployments of the Product and the value propositions underlying customer purchase decisions (in all served markets)
  • Leverages the Stage Gate model:
  • Works closely with Project Managers to prepare documentation and deliverables for Execution stage.
  • Coordinates with other PMs in the search for synergies between Products as it pertains to look/feel and functionality.
  • Proactively and effectively communicates and collaborates with REDCOM executive management; provides decision support as requested

Current Product/Version

  • Based on input from business partners, equipment vendors, and current and prospective customers, the UX Specialist evaluates opportunities to enhance current product value through its UI and other touch points.
  • Deep-dive into product UI and benchmark usability against established best practices. Observe product usage by various internal/external parties and document usability issues to be addresses in future product versions.

Future Product/Version

  • Delivers wireframe depictions of UX for communicating aspects of the features and functions constituting the approved version of Scope to Engineering for cost estimates.
  • Delivers high-fidelity designs when Engineering has no existing designs to build from.
  • Deliver UX recommendations for project scope to Product Managers.
  • Work with various REDCOM groups to both broaden their understanding of our users and acquire knowledge of our customers to be applied to relevant UX decision making.

Qualifications:

  • Two or more years of user experience design experience for software, Web applications which leverage emergent technologies, consumer electronics and/or mobile devices
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in interaction design, new media design or related design field
  • Portfolio to accompany résumé

System Integration & Test Specialist

Develop a complete interoperability testing plan for third-party products (e.g., VMWare and Microsoft products) and end instruments such as Grand Stream, TEO, Cisco, etc. Execute testing plans and document the results, including the capture of critical information, to share with product management to help drive product strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Perform product testing to ensure proper hardware and software functioning. Evaluate product reliability on prototypes in field trials and for final product releases.
  • Design tests in conjunction with product EIC to ensure proper feature operations and interactions, to verify that all potential feature operations in all versions of all new releases are compatible.
  • Maintain test records. If problems occur during hardware/software testing, informs EIC. Anticipates response back as to how to correct deficiencies.
  • Proofread all product operational user manuals for content, accuracy, and completeness. Advise Technical Writers of any appropriate or necessary changes.
  • Evaluate Engineering Investigation Requests from Sales to determine the nature of customer questions/concerns. May configure a duplicate customer system and attempt to reproduce reported situation. May talk with customers during the investigation of alleged problems.
  • May consult with EICs and/or other Engineers responsible for product design about product/feature implementation.
  • Assist in the configuration, evaluation, and inspection of integrated systems as required.
  • Assist and/or cross-train in other departments as required by company need and/or individual skill development to meet or maintain System Certification requirements.
  • Answer technical questions and assist in the training of co-workers and customers as needed.
  • Attend telecommunications equipment shows to assist in set-up and operation of show booth, meet with customers both in-house and on-site to address specific system operations, installations, and/or customer training as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or as required.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years experience in designing, testing, debugging, and repair experience in telephone switching systems, preferably involving REDCOM equipment.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Education

  • A.A.S. in Electronic Information or equivalent with additional course work preferred

Customer Support Specialist

The primary responsibilities of this position include providing technical services to internal and external customers prior to and after sale regarding use of products, conducting research to answer routine and non-routine technical questions, and to resolve technical problems.

A secondary responsibility of this position includes conducting customer training classes and reviewing customer training classes for technical content. Travel may be required.

Successful candidates will offer working knowledge of domestic and international interfaces, signaling and protocols, familiarity with test devices, OEM products and typical network devices, as well as system network knowledge.

The following IT Networking experience in a telecom environment is desirable:

  • Session border controllers
  • Firewalls
  • Wireshark analysis
  • Cisco routers
  • Wireless and server technologies

Education:

  • BS in a related discipline, such as Networking & Systems Administration, desired.
