  • Engineering – Electrical engineers, real time control software engineers, with C and/or Java experience, and IT software engineers. Telephony, IP, and network knowledge or educational specialization is highly desirable. While REDCOM provides a dynamic, structured environment to ensure high productivity, it also gives substantial freedom to engineers to use and build their skills and knowledge.
  • Sales – We sell direct, with our own direct sales staff and sales support staff. This includes technical requirements analysis, quotation, order entry, customer database customization, and customer technical support and training. Positions are staffed by salespersons, engineers and technicians. Education and experience requirements vary depending upon the position.
  • Manufacturing – REDCOM builds its own circuit boards and systems. REDCOM circuit boards use surface mount technologies. Positions include test engineering, manufacturing process design, board assembly/testing, system assembly/testing, as well as shipping and receiving. Education requirements vary, depending on job requirements. We cross-train our manufacturing employees, creating a flexible workforce able to meet changing demands, which greatly increases job diversity and satisfaction.
  • Facilities – We are proud of our office and manufacturing facilities. Maintenance and housekeeping activities are provided by our own facilities and grounds staff. They are an integral and valued part of our operation.
  • Administration – REDCOM administration staff handles purchasing, quality control, and a variety of other administrative activities. We have our own internal accounting staff for all necessary corporate activities. Dedicated IT servers equip them with the necessary tools, fully integrated with the rest of our corporate activities and systems. Education and experience requirements vary depending upon position.

State of the Art Facility

REDCOM’s workforce enjoys a comfortable, well maintained office and manufacturing facility. This 140,000 square foot facility is located on forty acres in suburban Victor, New York. Our manufacturing floor is built around a large, treed atrium. We have a health facility open to all employees, with two racquetball courts, exercise/workout equipment, saunas, and a large Jacuzzi. There is even an equipped radio shack for Ham radio operators. The grounds include walking paths through wooded areas.

Located near Rochester, New York, Victor is within driving distance of the Finger Lakes, Lake Ontario, Niagara Falls, the Adirondack Mountains, and the Catskill Mountains. Government Account Manager

Essential Functions 

  • Responsible for gaining commitment to purchase REDCOM products and services primarily from customers in the USA and Canadian Military branches and their associated agencies, USA and Canadian Federal/State/Provincial/Local government entities, and integrators/resellers that serve these markets.
  • The Government Account Manager (GAM) will be tasked with focusing on business opportunities valued between $25,000 and $1,000,000 to meet established revenue targets. Revenue targets are set by the Director, Government Programs and are subject to change.
  • Proactively follow up on all identified sales opportunities in order to understand and positively influence the timing and decision process associated with those opportunities.
  • Allocate a minimum of 30% of work time to prospect and develop new opportunities through regular customer contact based on agreed to plans with management.
  • Proactively and regularly seek knowledge of customer plans and requirements in order to recommend appropriate REDCOM systems for the customer to consider.
  • Assist customers with the configuration of REDCOM systems for customer specific applications to supply input for the generation of a proposal.
  • Drives sales plan implementation, and products-services introduced by REDCOM. This includes set up and attendance at trade shows, training sessions, and conventions.

Knowledge (education and training):

  • 5+ years’ experience as a sales-marketing executive within a related technical arena. Preferably, telecommunications
  • Prior experience of supporting and/or selling to the USA military and USA federal government is highly desirable including:
    • Experience with the Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) Program, commonly referred to as GSA Schedules, which is the premier commercial acquisition vehicle program with the Federal Government. An understanding of the various schedules within MAS to include Government Wide Award Contracts (GWACs), and Multiple Award Contracts (MACs) that are multiple award, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contracts.  
    • Knowledge of the GSA processes and an understanding of the oversight duties of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to include potential Clinger-Cohen Act constraints and restraints.
    • Experience with the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) and Federal Procurement Data System (FPDS) websites in order to research opportunities and develop strategies for contract implementation.
  • Demonstrated work history of consistently meeting or exceeding assigned sales quotas
  • Computer savvy with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), SharePoint, and ERP/CRM systems.
  • Demonstrated skills to be able to use the Internet for information searches and social networking activities.

Critical Skills:

  • Must be able to initiate direct customer contact through a combination of phone, letter, email, personal visits, and approved social network interaction.
  • Must be able to develop and make presentations by being able to clearly articulate highly technical concepts to a variety of audiences.
  • A demonstrable personal work flow process to manage the day to day job requirements

Special working conditions:

  • Must have the ability to travel without restriction within the United States and international. Has to be prepared to travel up to 10%.

        EMS Sales Manager

        Essential Functions

        • Responsible for gaining commitment to purchase Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) from REDCOM in order to meet established revenue targets from the assigned geographic territories. Geographic territories and revenue targets are set by the VP, Sales and are subject to change.
        • Allocate a minimum of 70% of work time to prospecting and developing opportunities from new customers based on agreed to plans with management.
        • Maintain existing accounts within the assigned sales region through regular customer contact.
        • Proactively and regularly seek knowledge of customer plans and requirements in order to recommend appropriate REDCOM quotes for the customer to consider.
        • Assist customers with the collection of information based on REDCOM EMS business standards for the generation of a proposal to the customer.
        • Drives sales plan implementation, and services introduced by REDCOM. This includes set up and attendance at trade shows, training sessions, and conventions
        • Work closely with EMS Program Managers to develop quotes and provide support to existing customers.

        Knowledge (education and training):

        • 5+ years’ experience as a sales-marketing executive within an EMS or related business area
        • Knowledge/experience in a printed circuit board assembly operation/facility
        • Demonstrated work history of consistently meeting or exceeding assigned sales quotas
        • Computer savvy with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), SharePoint, and CRM/ERP.
        • Demonstrated skills to be able to use the Internet for information searches and social networking activities.

        Critical Skills:

        • Must be able to develop and implement business-to-business sales strategies for REDCOM EMS in the assigned territory.

            Software Engineer (C++)

            We are looking to add an experienced developer to our Sigma Core software team. You’ll be a major contributor to the development of current and future Unified Communications solutions at REDCOM. You will collaborate with other members of our engineering team to design and deliver secure and reliable voice, video and chat applications.

            Skills and Requirements:

            • Fluent in C and C++.
            • Experience working in FreeBSD, Linux or other Unix environments
            • Demonstrated experience building software applications using industry standard practices and design methodologies.
            • BS or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.

            Additional Desired Qualifications:

            Practical experience with one or more of the following

            • VoIP – SIP, XMPP, or other computer telephony and chat protocols
            • Voice, audio and video codecs
            • TCP/IP and networking technologies and protocols
            • Security and encryption
            • Lua programming

              Government Technology Integration Specialist

              • Responsible for validation and integration of various solutions, including system software and applications on various hardware platforms. Various telecom technologies utilized, including but not limited to VoIP, Digital Interfaces, and complex protocols.
              • Interface with customers and/or third party equipment vendors to coordinate systems integration efforts.
              • Plan, Setup, and Execute on plans for Tradeshows and Customer Product Demonstrations
                • This includes preparing, presenting, and fielding questions from small and large audiences
              • Maintain knowledge of all current release content and product functionality
              • Review customer initiated inquiries (Email and Request for Information) and create responses, to include technical specifications and network drawings
              • Follow-up with contacts made at tradeshows via phone, email, travel, etc.

              Knowledge & Skills required to fulfill the essential functions

              Knowledge (education and training):

              • Strong working knowledge of one (preferably more) of the following; Dept of Defense or First Responder secure communications in tactical or deployed environments.
              • Working knowledge of radio interface technologies.
              • Strong knowledge in a variety of network protocols and technologies (listed under Critical Skills) attained through the following:
                • Associate’s Degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Programming/Engineering, Networking & System Administration, Web & Mobile Computing, Systems/Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or closely related degree
                • Or attainment of the same level of advanced knowledge through a combination of intellectual instruction (e.g., Industry recognized IT or telecom-related certification OR related university or military program of study) and at least 4 years of directly related work experience.

              Critical Skills:

              • IP/SIP routing and network security (preference is for AS-SIP)
              • Radio Technologies (First Responder and Military)
              • Network protocol analysis tools, such as Wireshark
              • Hypervisor experience, such as VMware
              • Linux and Windows OS
              • Understanding of Web development and scripting languages
              • Legacy Telephony Experience a plus
              • Ability to apply the aforementioned network protocols and technology experience in the performance of system/network setup and product demonstrations.
              • The ability to learn technical material timely in response to customer evolving products and customer requirements.

              Other Duties

              • Define new feature development requirements.
              • Assist other departments (Customer Service, Sales, Manufacturing, etc.) in product utilization, including configuration of system parameters, installation, or troubleshooting.

              Special Working Conditions

              • Travel required (typically no more than 25%).
              • May require extended work hours to meet project or customer requirements. For example, there are times when a customer may have an urgent need and we will work to help them in any way we can.
              • Prior DoD security clearance, and ability to have it reactivated is a plus.

              Physical Requirements

              • Must be able to travel alone.
              • Customer sites vary and require working in a variety of environmental and building conditions (inside and outside) that require the ability to independently and repeatedly kneel, reach, push, pull, and/or crouch to setup and maintain equipment.

                (Lead Mobile) Senior Staff Software Engineer – Client Applications

                Are you passionate about designing and delivering intuitive applications across different platforms that make complex operations simple for their users?

                Are you a strong technical team leader – someone who has both the technical chops to be a major contributor to the design and implementation of applications and the leadership skills to provide day-to-day direction within the team?

                We are looking to add a Senior Staff Engineer to our Applications Development team. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the ideal candidate will have the technical skills, experience and vision to lead the definition and development of Sigma Client UC Mobile and Desktop applications.

                Responsibilities:

                • Guide product definition, design and development activities across the full range of REDCOM products with a concentration on Sigma Client Mobile and Desktop applications.
                • Develop functional requirements based on high level requirements and feature descriptions as specified by Product Management and Sales.
                • Design, implement and test applications across Android, Windows and iOS.
                • Produce schedules and budgets for assigned product development activities based on resources, work estimates, and business needs.
                • Provide direct oversight for team members – define and assign tasks, track progress, provide mentoring/coaching, conduct performance reviews.
                • Coordinate group efforts with other departments and functions including Product Management, Product Validation, Sales, and Customer Service.
                • Investigate and evaluate technologies and methodologies and apply them within the product development team.

                Skills and Requirements:

                • Highly motivated with strong communication, time management, and leadership skills.
                • Expert level knowledge in one or more of the following: Android, iOS or Windows application development using Java, Swift, C, C++, C#, or Objective C.
                • Strong technical acumen and practical experience designing and developing application software solutions, preferably for telecommunications.
                • Demonstrated experience leading and motivating development teams of varying size through the software development lifecycle.
                • Produces quality products on time and within budget.
                • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects utilizing internal and external resources.
                • Expertise using standard Project Management, Productivity, Software Configuration Management, and Bug Tracking software packages.
                • BS or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
                • Fifteen (15) or more years of professional experience with the software development lifecycle: product specification, design, implementation, validation, release, and maintenance.

                  Digital Marketing & Communications Intern

                    We’re looking for a digital marketing & communications intern to join our team for both the Fall/Winter and Winter/Spring.

                    This position is for current juniors or seniors studying marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field at an area college.
