January 2014 Updates:
BERG Racing and REDCOM Laboratories, Inc. are looking forward to the start of the 2014 IMSA Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series at this year’s Daytona Rising 200. The team will be campaigning the No. 40 REDCOM Boxster and No. 50 REDCOM/Bionic Cayman on January 24 at the iconic speedway. This will mark BERG Racing's third season in which the husband and wife Weisberg drivers/team owners will race in the IMSA Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge.
"Bionic Man" James Vance has joined the BERG Racing team, and will co-drive the REDCOM/Bionic Environments #50 Porsche Cayman with team owner, John Weisberg. The duo will team up for the season, with an eye on the championship. Veteran racers, Ari Straus and Joe Massesa, will team up in the No. 40 REDCOM Boxster, also sponsored by Monticello Motor Club.
"I am extremely excited to get to work in the #50 Porsche Cayman powered by Bionic Environments and REDCOM Laboratories!" said new team member, James Vance. "It has been what had felt like the longest off-season yet, with lots of change and uncertainty. I am very excited that we have a full season to show what we can do, and I have all the confidence in the world in John and the team behind us at BERG Racing. It's a long season, and we are just looking for consistent finishes, and if we can do that, we most definitely will have succeeded."
The #50 Porsche Cayman replaces the #50 Boxster that the team has run in the past, and sports a larger 2.9 l motor and better aerodynamics. The #40 Boxster has also been updated to 2009 specs.
Team owner John Weisberg commented, “It’s very exciting to introduce new drivers and partners to such an exciting series. CTSSC is arguably the most competitive series in North America, if not the world. James and I will have a steep road ahead and it won’t be easy. With the added performance of the Cayman, and great sponsors like REDCOM and Bionic we feel we have the right package for the job.”
In October, construction started on a new BERG Racing facility in Webster, NY. The approximately 13,000 sq. foot building, expected to be completed in March 2014, will combine shop, Dyno, storage, and office space. The shop will focus on the custom fabrication and modification of specialized automobiles for street and track, in addition to the development of the team’s race cars.
Weisberg is also pleased to announce that REDCOM Laboratories, Inc. will again be the featured sponsor of the BERG Racing team in the IMSA Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series. "BERG Racing thanks REDCOM and Monticello Motor Club for their continued support of the BERG Racing team, and welcomes Bionic Environments and ColorTrack as new sponsors."

June 2013 Updates: REDCOM will be sponsoring the Hillside Believe in Kids Golf Classic at Monroe Golf Club in Pittsford on June 24, 2013. Dinah Gueldenpfennig Weisberg, REDCOM’s Executive Vice President and a BERG Racing driver, along with her husband John Weisberg, driver and owner of BERG Racing, will display their race cars at the golf tournament. For an on-site donation to Hillside, donors will be able to sign the cars. These signatures will remain on the cars when they race the BERG Racing #40 and #50 Porsches in the Continental Tire 150 at Watkins Glen International on June 29. Hillside Children’s Center youth and staff will be able to get an up-close experience with the team at the race and see the signatures on the cars.
“We are thrilled to include Hillside’s logo on our race car, giving the youth who are attending the race a direct connection to the action on the track,” said Dinah Gueldenpfennig Weisberg. “REDCOM is a proud long-term supporter of Hillside Family of Agencies and this high-profile race is an opportunity to increase exposure and awareness for a wonderful organization that has deep roots in our community.” The race will be used to generate exposure for Crestwood Children’s Center and Hillside Children’s Center and raise money via donations at the following site: www.hillside.com/glen.

November 2012 Updates: After wrapping up a challenging and successful 2012 season, the REDCOM-Sponsored BERG Racing Porsches will be back, with the #40 car being driven in several races by REDCOM's own Dinah Gueldenpfennig Weisberg, who will also be racing at several events in the World Challenge Series.
Round 1 of the Continental Tire Sportscar Challenge takes place at Daytona International Speedway, in Daytona, Florida, on January 25, 2013, and is the opening race for the famed 24-Hours of Daytona.
The full schedule and ticket information for the 2013 season can be found on the GRAND-AM web site.
June 2012 Updates: REDCOM is pleased to announce that REDCOM’s Executive Vice President, Dinah Gueldenpfennig Weisberg, will be co-driving with BERG Racing’s John Weisberg in the REDCOM-sponsored #40 Porsche in the GRAND-AM Continental Tire 150 at Watkins Glen International on Saturday, June 30, in support of the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen. The famous Watkins Glen International Racetrack is just 1.5 hours Southeast of the REDCOM headquarters of Victor, NY. The REDCOM entry will be used to raise funds and awareness for Hillside Children’s Center, a not-for-profit organization which serves youth with emotional, behavioral, or mental challenges. The race will be televised on SPEED at 3pm on Saturday, July 14.
May 2012 Updates: Making what is believed to be a GRAND-AM first, BERG Racing will have a husband and wife driver team for Saturday’s B+ Heroes 200 presented by BCKSTGR at New Jersey Motorsports Park. John and Dinah Weisberg will co-drive the REDCOM-sponsored No. 40 Porsche Boxster in Round 4 of the Continental Tires Sports Car Challenge.
John Weisberg is the owner and team principal of BERG Racing of Webster, N.Y. Although a rookie in GRAND-AM, he is no newcomer to racing, most recently having won back-to-back IMSA Lites championships in 2009-10.
Dinah Weisberg has been racing for eight years, and makes her GRAND-AM and pro racing debut this weekend. She is the Vice President of Planning and Government Program Administration at REDCOM Laboratories, Inc., the primary sponsor of the No. 40 car. Although a first in GRAND-AM, this is not a first for the couple, who have raced together extensively since meeting at Watkins Glen in 2004.
BERG Racing was founded in 2002, and in addition to being a professional race team, is a full-service racing operation, providing custom fabrication, driver coaching, track support and transportation. For more than 30 years, REDCOM Laboratories has been developing and manufacturing the world’s most reliable digital and IP-enabled telecommunications systems for carriers, utilities, and emergency response and defense applications.
“Our customers are extremely interested in following the efforts of the team, and I’m excited about moving into the ranks of pro-racing and co-driving with John in what we consider to be the most competitive racing series in the United States,” Dinah said.
“I’m thrilled and excited to share this experience with my wife, friend, and now co-driver,” John Weisberg said. “We both work and play hard, so this is a natural progression, and I’m lucky to be able to enjoy this with her.”
Schedules permitting, the duo intends to compete together for the rest of the season.

2011 marked the beginning of the Grand Am Continental Sports Car Challenge for the REDCOM sponsored BERG Racing cars. With the start of the season at Daytona, the #40 ST RX-8 ended its short life in turn 2, only 7 laps into the race after moving from 24th place to 10th. The subsequent ST Porsche Boxter was tested and run successfully in New Jersey in July and at Mid Ohio in October.
In September of 2011, Dinah Gueldenpfennig Weisberg, VP of Planning and Government Program Administration at REDCOM, raced the 1998 Ferrari 355 Challenge to raise funds for Hillside Children's Center in two sprint races and a 1.5 hour enduro.
2011 wrapped up with several wins at Watkins Glen International Raceway, including a whopping 1 lap lead at the end of the 4-hour enduro in the REDCOM badged Porsche boxter, co-driven by John Weisberg and Dinah Gueldenpfennig Weisberg. Dinah also raced the two-time championship IMSA Lites L2 DSR, starting last and finishing 3rd.
REDCOM Laboratories Inc. is proud to announce that REDCOM-sponsored race cars had a very successful 2010 race season, culminating in two high profile events at world famous tracks.
John Weisberg, driving the REDCOM/Solar Stik/BERG Racing Cooper Tires Prototype Lites WEST racecar, clinched the series championship after two nail-biting races at Road Atlanta October 1st and 2nd. The REDCOM-badged car entered the final 2-race event 5 points behind in the championship. Weisberg would need to drive at his best to remain a contender. It started well, with Weisberg qualifying 1st for race 1, with the points leader Lee Alexander starting 3rd. Weisberg would lead every lap but the last to finish a heartbreaking 2nd. But Alexander, finishing 7th, handed the championship lead to John. Weisberg would now only need to finish ahead of Alexander in the second race to become the champion. The REDCOM car started race 2 from 2nd place but shortly took the lead and won handily, taking the team and driver championship titles in the process. This is the second year in a row that the BERG Racing/REDCOM crew has brought the title home. "It's great to win the championship again for me and the team but it's also a pleasure to represent REDCOM, as well as have the support of Solar Stik," said Weisberg.
Be sure to visit the Cooper Tires Prototype Lites web site for the full story on John Weisberg's victory.
Also, on September 10-12, Dinah Gueldenpfennig, VP Planning and Government Program Administration at REDCOM, drove the REDCOM/BERG Racing Ferrari 355 Challenge at Watkins Glen International during the SVRA (Sportscar Vintage Racing Association) Glenora US Vintage Grand Prix. She finished 2nd in class during the one hour enduro on September 11 and 2nd in class during a 30 minute sprint the same day, followed by 3rd overall during a sprint race in the rain on Sunday. The race entry was used to raise money for Hillside Children's center.
"REDCOM is very proud to be a sponsor of this racing effort and to have our company logo appear side by side with Hillside Children's Center logo," said Klaus Gueldenpfennig, President of REDCOM. Hillside Family of Agencies is a family and children services organization that provides child welfare, mental health, youth development, juvenile justice, special education, and developmental disabilities services across central and western New York. The event raised over $3,000 for the organization. This was calculated based on the number of laps completed, multiplied by the dollar amount pledged. "It was an honor to race to raise money for Hillside, and an honor to represent REDCOM in doing so," said Dinah.
Hillside Children’s Center, an affiliate of Hillside Family of Agencies, is a provider of care for youth and families with a wide range of emotional, behavioral, or life circumstance challenges. Hillside Children’s Center offers mental health, child welfare, juvenile justice, special education, safety net, and developmental disabilities services to children and families throughout Western and Central New York.
